The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the food was so so great, real home made meals, loved the food, and the help yourself bar was very cool, we did not take anything but the idea is something different which I have never seen in South Africa before. We did enjoy our stay very much and was happy to have been there and experience it.

It was a good stay, the roads are well constructed but have lots of speeding cameras and the best part of everything is that there are big supermarket retails nearby all the b&b, hotels and guest houses. The likes of spar, pick and pay and checkers

The location, tranquility, and layout of the facility are awesome. The staff are respectful and friendly in response to you. The hotel is nicely tucked away while at the same time close to shops and activities of interest. The only concern is the potholes in the surrounding roads, but that is true throughout the area.

The view from God’s Window is breathtaking. The accommodation and access to it leaves a lot to be desired. I would definitely visit White River again but I will be giving the accommodation I booked a hard pass.

Is white River under-rated...for sure!
Is white River under-rated...for sure! I spent a week there and really I could have spent more time. It is such a beautiful city with breathtaking views. So safe!! Cleanliness is visibly noticeable on all streets and areas. Places I visited:
1. Casterbridge Centre which has Sabie Valley Coffee(Yes! however 50 metres away at Bagdad centre is Kings Coffee which i believe is of the highest quality of coffee and cheap, delicious food. Sabie valley coffee is overpriced! Casterbridge has many curio arts and craft places, car museums, Belgian chocolate store, mexican restaurant and greek restaurant.
2. Another 50 metres away at the next exit of the round about is a small little food place called Route 40. Delicious curries.
3. Drove to Sudwala Caves, Dinosaur Park and Butterfly park all on the same site as Sudwala Caves. So you can spend a half a day on those activities.
4. Spent a day at a quaint, beautiful town called Kaapschehoop. Boy was this a treat. We did the hike, ate yummy food at the local restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed this untouched beauty!
5. Drove early one morning to the Numbi gate, got there by 6am and enjoyed a full 12 hours driving in the Kruger National Park. Spotted many, many animals. A well worth trip.
What an amazing stay at White River and a perfect base location central to all the activites we planned.
The location is conveniently close to White River and Nelspruit as well as the Kruger International Airport. The novelty of staying in a tent like structure with all the amenities in it is wonderful, even when it is chilly which is unusual for this area. The staff are super atTENTive and the facilities are wonderful. It is so good, this was my second stay. Love the random animals which wander past the tents at all times of the day. The accommodation is a great stay for any occasion, be it a work stopover, or a romantic getaway.
Location is about halfway between Hazyview and White River, its a remote setting which as we had a hire car was perfect. Overlooking the reservoir of da gama dam, views are lovely. Set in what used to be a resort which appears to have closed and individual places sold off it was secure and quiet. The lodge was clean and had basics we needed including a gas hob and oven for cooking along with a washing machine. It was a perfect base to get to and from Phabeni Gate (Kruger) and the restaurants at Hazy View.
This place is absolutely wonderful! The property is so nice and the cottage is absolutely adorable. It is super modern and contains anything you would possibly need. The host is so kind and helpful. There are two super sweet dogs on the property that definitely brought some more joy to our stay! We stopped here on our way from Kruger National Park to Johannesburg and it was the perfect stopping point. I would definitely recommend to any couple traveling through the White River area!
The very quiet location does it for my beautiful peaceful sleep surrounded by virgin land that breathes fresh air to the location. The rooms are large and so are the bathrooms. I enjoyed the verandah especially for a morning chill with a cup of coffee. The WiFi is great and the breakfast was amazing. The kitchen staff were very friendly. I admired the swimming pool and wished I had brought my swim suit as the pool was sparkling clean. Destiny lodge is a great place to be👌🏻
Set in a beautiful, quiet and secure location of White River, with convenient parking. The room was outstanding with a very comfortable king bed and plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom with shower was superb and just what was required. The whole setup just worked so well for me as a solo traveller. The breakfast was more than adequate and the management team were great. Can thoroughly recomend Country Lane Lodge.
The rooms are very clean.
The entertainment area is quite relaxing.
They also gave us a wonderful service throughout our two nights spent.
The breakfast was great, all you can eat.
They surprised us with an amazing surprise outdoor table for two reservation courtesy of the hotel. It was quite pleasing to the eyes and we loved being in tune with nature seeing beautiful antilopes while having our breakfast. Lovely
Lovely one night stay at White House Lodge. Accommodations were as expected & the value was right. Perfect for an overnight stay after a late arrival from the airport. Owner was an excellent communicator. Food was excellent. Cute setup with honor bar and pretty outdoor area that we were unable to use during our short stay.
Everything about Muluwa Lodge was exceptional. From arrival all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Breakfast and Dinner was delicious.
The room is spacious and beautiful. The view is breathtaking. With giraffe roaming next to the swimming pool.
Definitely one of the best experiences I had.
This is the second time we have stayed at Monkey Thorn Lodge and it was just as lovely as we remember. In fact the gardens were magnificent. The food as always was delicious, home cooked and fresh. The staff were as friendly and helpful as before. We will be back next year. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We did not see any staff as keys in boxes next to rooms with codes sent via whatsapp. Super easy. We were only there for one night so did not see or use facilities but the location was perfect for White river and rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. Great value for money.
I liked that the stuff was friendly and very helpful, I changed from room only to self catering without no fuss. The room was clean and the outside area was clean
Good place, environment and the viewing we as top of the range. I loved everything about Noma-nini lodge. I'd like to visit again for another good vacation 👌
