The location was brilliant and Monnikckendam is such a beautiful place. The chalet was really nicely fitted out everythig we could have wanted for our stay. The hosts were attentive but not over-bearing and overall we loved our stay here.

Lovely location within the old town, very close to facilities but also not far from bus stops. Enjoyed the loft room, little bit quirky. great to have two shower rooms/toilets, unusual in a two bedroom place. Large table outside to enjoy eating out when the sun shone. Exceptionally helpful host. The pictures don't really do it justice.

Very calm and relaxing with an eccentric mix of interiors and art, great location to cycle in and escape the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. We got a room with a balcony where we could watch the world go by. Everyone was very friendly and quite dry.

The location. Although it is not in Amsterdam central, it is just a few minutes to Amsterdam Central by metro. And Metro Noord Station is right next to the hotel.
You should visit Monnickendam in April. The weather was inclement, rainy and cold, when I visited in early March. It's a wonderfully quaint, beautiful and quiet town with lovely architecture, a few shops and eateries and the last thing you'll see is other tourists.

A beautiful village 20minutes by public transport from the centre of Amsterdam.
The location is a quiet village but with plenty of restaurants and snacks available. There is a local supermarket and specialist artisan shops.
We ate at most of the restaurants alongside the canal. Harbour suits and Bobs are especially friendly and have good food.
As a base for a city break to Amsterdam it is perfect. You are close enough to enjoy the highlights, hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. The quiet easy pace of Monnickendam provides a pleasant contrast with its slower pace and tranquility.
Chalets finished to a very high standard. Comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms.
Everything functioning and most things you need for a weeks stay.
Lovely secure shingled garden area which gets the best of the sun.
Great location in Monnickendam. Close to local park, restaurants, water and supermarket. Quick access from main road and parking easy.
Welcoming family, quick to respond and very accommodating. The family even organised reservation at the marina for us.
The houseboat was truly a lovely experience! Amsterdam was the last stop of our 14 day tour, before returning home to Asia. This added a really sweet finale touch to our trip soaking in the atmosphere on the houseboat. The boat was comfy, clean, had everything you would need and oh...goegeous sunset views! Mark n Linda were awesome hosts, extremely helpful, warm n welcoming! Lovely n friendly neighbours from the boat next door too!
We loved this beautiful holiday home right on the riverside. Our hosts were really helpful when we arrived and the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Monnickendam is very pretty with lovely places to eat and perfectly located for a trip to Amsterdam which we did on the bus in 30 mins. We explored Volhendam, Edam and Marken by bike. Fabulous stay would 100% recommend. Thanks Joke and Peter 😍
We loved the location and accessibility! It was perfect for our stay with our mom and a private place to relax at the end of our trip. The space was bright and uncluttered with comfortable and plentiful seating in the living area. The outdoor table was an added bonus and parking was easy. The old town/waterfront was an easy stroll, grocery as well. We would definitely return to delightful Monnickendam.
The room was very easily accessible by public transport, just 20 min. bus ride from Amsterdam centraal.
The owners are really friendly and helpful.
We had a very nice time over the weekend.
The views from the room are super beautiful.
The town is a very small, quiet, beautiful town away from hustle and bustle of Amsterdam.
We will definitrly visit again.
We are glad to have chosen this beautiful place, despite the fact that most of the time spent in Amsterdam, it was very nice to return to a cozy village and luxury apartments. Special thanks to Babette for the hospitality and delicious breakfasts. We would recommend this hotel for anyone and will probably stay in this hotel again!
It may be an orange monster but it's the cutest orange monster. The decoration adorable, the note from our captain, the snacks, everything was adorable.Everything was well explained no bad surprises. The surprisingly easy access to Amsterdam with public transport. And even if the bathroom is separate it was pretty clean.
Staff was very nice and available.
The hotel is located in a nice city near Amsterdam which is perfect. There’s also a lot of places near the hotel to have a good time.
The room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed and fresh beverages in the fridge. I would totally go back.
Plenty of parking is available. Monnickedam is a small, safe, very cute, and peaceful suburb. After a 10-minute walk to the bus station, you can easily reach Amsterdam. The bus is often, great, and quick. The room looks nice and it was very spacious. Bigger than most hotel rooms.
The chalet was adorable and the hosts were so kind and welcoming! It's in such an adorable artist village very close to downtown Amsterdam (public bus is like 20 min). Perfect if you want a more low key place to stay but want to still be close to the city.
We had an amazing stay at Fortuna Spinoza! The host is really nice and made a delicious breakfast in the morning. The rooms are very stylish and clean. Monnickendam is very pretty and the hotel is close to a bus stop with frequent busses to Amsterdam.
Monnickendam is a town a little ways to the north Amsterdam. It doesn't make Lonely Planet, but it should. We wanted to stay in the area for a couple of days, and Waterland Suite was good, with small kitchenette. A supermarket is quite close.
perfect wat to explore Dutch countryside and that too in outskirts of Amsterdam and 15 min drive to Marken or Volendam. The appartment has all what we needed, and the location and experience was very nice. The breakfast was simple and sufficient
Location was great - in the centre of the old town. The small cosy place was easy to look after. A good place to stay rather than a hotel as there are all the facilities to cook etc which a hotel does not have.
