Quaint old house, with many rooms, but most houses around here are like that. Room was spacious, and the beds were okay.
Set within its own grounds, Bankton House boasts stately Georgian architecture and peaceful surroundings.

Amazing location, really close to the train station and a local shop, lovely woodlands nearby and an absolutely beautiful room! Arrived at 10pm and the staff were very accommodating and allowed for a late checkin, the room was very clean, comfortable, and cozy, would 100% recommend and stay again :)

Staff very helpful
The breakfast choices were fabulous... I have a daughter with a dairy intolerance and a granddaughter who is gluten free so it was great to see that the hotel would cater for any of those problems.
In close proximity to the airport... flat walking distance .. but no aircraft noise which was great! And the hotel was very quiet in the corridors and my room.
Disappointed not to have Sky Sports on tv to follow the French Open Tennis.
Room 210... the shower was very clean but the non slip base looked grubby and there was black mould UNDER the clear sealant in the corner and under the glass shower screen

Not much in Ratho, the canal is a particular favourite as lots of activity and it’s quite picturesque. Easy access to Edinburgh scenery is fabulous and if it’s a quiet time you want then this is the place to go.

Driving in late at night in the dark, I did not appreciate the beauty of my surroundings until next morning when I saw the canal, the town buildings and the towpath walks. Swans on the canal added to the overall charm.

Gorgeous venue and surroundings.
Gorgeous venue and surroundings. Overall, staff were friendly but the venue was a bit of a maze, which was sometimes frustrating. My room was very far away from hotel amenities which was also something to bare in mind when booking, especially if disabled.
I’d still really recommend for a short stay. Lovely breakfast!

Ratho exceeded all of our expectations.
Ratho exceeded all of our expectations. We'd booked the end of our 10-day Scotland trip near the airport (which is less than 10 minutes away), and so thought this might be a less than perfect part of town on Edinburgh's outstretches. But, not at all. Ratho is charming, quaint, with lots of nice walking in town or along the canals.
