The room was pleasant and clean, however it was very warm. Thankfully there was a fan that we could use. Breakfast was adequate but not a big choice on the continental side

The location was fabulous, the hotel communal areas were very nicely presented. The staff were so lovely and friendly (Janette and Ryan were lovely on reception) , they couldn't do enough for us. The food was very good. We upgraded our room to the Eddleston suite which was fabulous, just idyllic.

Staff in all areas were excellent.
Staff in all areas were excellent. Used the gym rather than the pool this time around preferring to chill out more than usual in the main lounge area. Food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast had almost everything you would want. If you want to eat out there are a number if options. Over our two visits we had excellent meals in The Mandarin (great team), The Cross Keys (Weatherspoons), Number 56 cafe (local favourite) Green Tree Hotel and The Crown.

Attractive riverside walks; castles within walking or driving distance; the town has good quality coffee shops and some gift shops; not far from Edinburgh if wanting to go further afield. Town has health centre and hospital. Also theatre. Some of town's attractions do not open until Easter.

What's not to like?
What's not to like? We are regular visitors becuase we love Pebbles is has lots of really good independant shops, we save up shopping to do there and has great Theatre in the Eastgate worth planning round shows. The town is set in a bowl surrounded by beautiful hills and the surrounding countryside is very beautiful, great for cycling and walking. It is quick and easy to get to Edinburgh for day out. It has a regular bus service into Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside which also carries bikes too. We used to be able to go to the Fringe Festival and get back on late bus after a show but sadly that service is no longer available but buses do still run into the late evening.

We have been to Peebles before and love it for the gorgeous independent shops. The surrounding area is beautiful. This visit we used it as a base for visiting Edinburgh's Fringe Festival. Hotel prices in August remain the same in Peebles unlike in Edinburgh where they double! There is direct bus service from Peebles to the city centre and the Park and Ride at Straiton is efficient and convenient - and cheap!! A £2 bus fare, including parking, compared with £5 per hour in Edinburgh. It was also a lot less stressful than driving around the city. Dinner at The Horseshoes was wonderful.
Telephone contact immediately after booking ensured room was accessible by lift. Pleasant on a warm summer day to have afternoon tea and pre-dinner drink at one of the tables outside in the hotel forecourt. To the rear of the hotel there is a riverside walk. Table fan in our room was welcomed. Impressive dining room, with very good food at both dinner and breakfast. All members of staff pleasant and attentive to all needs. Peebles is a nice town and well situated for visits to Edinburgh and in transit to other southern areas.
We stayed as a family of 4 to spend a couple of days biking at Glentress. The hotel is in a beautiful setting. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the kids loved the swimming pool, they had bike storage and a fantastic cycle way to the trails. Nearby Peebles has some lovely restaurants. Breakfast was good once you had actually been allocated a table (they are obviously struggling with staff shortages as we queued 30 mins + one day). But overall a cracking place, perfect for a family activity break!
Very nice room right next to the lift with great views and a proper bathroom. Good on site facilities both dining and leisure. Easy walk into Peebles. Afternoon tea very enjoyable. The whole set up is very traditional Scotland and old hotel style comfortable. Great breakfast buffet including a big vat of porridge obviously: although the orange juice was disappointingly long life not fresh.
The whole experience was terrific. The staff was helpful, friendly, and engaging. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the bar area and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable and the view from the room was unmatched. I would definitely recommend The Park to anyone visiting the lovely town of Peebles.
Spotless. Obviously recently refurbished and refitted. Huge, very comfortable bed. Large, and powerful walk in shower. Warm and comfortable house. In a very quiet location despite being right in the heart of Peebles. Minutes walk to excellent independent local shops, hotels, bars and restaurants.
This is a small and friendly exclusive location, set in its own grounds. Just outside of Peebles and Edinburgh a short distance away, the county setting is very quiet. Excellent restaurant and the staff could not be more helpful. We picked this hotel as it included an EV charge point.
Great little place and aptly named! Lovely and warm, small but all we needed for a weekend stay in Peebles. Both the main bed and the pull-out in the living room were very comfy. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. They'd even left us a bottle of wine, so kind!
The hotel is very easy to find and is located a brief walk from the centre of Peebles. Parking is ample, and there is a charging point for electric vehicles which allowed me to leave with a full battery. The hotel is very welcoming, clean and comfortable.
The cross keys is a lovely hotel in the heart of Peebles, the rooms were lovely and clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was very nice with a nice big shower.
I can highly recommend the Cross Keys to stay.
I couldn't fault the room we were given when we checked in. It was a large room with a fantastic view and everything felt and looked so fresh. We didn't have breakfast but we had dinner in the hotel twice and it was lovely.
I was attending a wedding alone because of a bereavement and the staff were very kind. Great breakfasts. Lively, friendly bar. Peebles is charming - one of the churches' bells played proper tunes on Sunday morning.
The breakfast was very nice... Continental items and then a hot dish.
Comfortable beds.
Great location with shopping and pubs nearby.
Parking behind the hotel.
Wonderful staff.
Clean room.
Love its location and spotless rooms most comfortable beds.
We love the hotel go often just to get a break from our daily routine
Recommend it for the peacefulness and fantastic rooms
