If you want to tour the Thanet area you need a car.

It is a very pleasant place to be.
It is a very pleasant place to be. Nice characterful buildings and individual shops. The sandy beach looked clean, with safe swimming area. Plenty of good places to eat and stop for drinks. Hotels within walking distance of the shops and bay. Buses every 10 minutes around the coast to Margate and Ramsgate. Part of the Coastal Path. Dickens museum.

Beautiful seaside village, great restaurants, friendly vibes, amazing sandy beach, walking trails, great little gift & antique shops, very busy on the long weekend we were there, but it didn’t feel too crazy crowded, recommend visiting Broadstairs.

Really pretty, lovely clean sandy beaches. A small seaside town with only a small shopping area with small independent stores. Some nice restaurants. As with many seaside towns there are some closed down shops and more maintenance needed in places, a little jaded in parts. However the main town Beach, Viking Bay is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. Do not visit in the winter or when it is raining. The menu is very limited at weekends and if there is a function at the time of visit, you can forget about any available facilities in the hotel. Lovely coastal walk , went in winter I guess- march , but still a lovely walk and we were lucky with the bright days .lunch was lovely as was breakfast. The Christmas Day meal was excellent, far too much but very enjoyable and the breakfasts gave us many choices and different selections. Have stayed at the hotel before, all facilities 1st class and the staff friendly and helpful. The location ideal for walks either way from the hotel on the beach or over the cliff tops, with short drives to Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate. Our bedroom was Lovely and looked like it was recently refurbished to a very high standard.The bed was huge and very comfortable . Breakfast was buffet style and the food and drinks excellent . All the staff were excellent. The hotel is a 10 minute easy walk to the town center and Broadstairs beach. We will certainly stay here next time we visit. Parking was free in the large hotel car park .
