From the reviews, we decided to come and stay an extra evening in Melk, rather than continue in Vienna, and it certainly did not disappoint. Large, spacious, modern and sophisticated, we lived in luxury for a reasonable off-season price. We later learnt that Der Goldener Stern also had a past as a historic inn owned by the Abbey. No staff were seen, and none were needed at this self check-in apartment. Radiator was great for drying washed clothes.

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Goldene Wachau - Privatzimmer is a recently renovated homestay located in Aggsbach, 10 km from Melk Abbey. Our hosts were welcoming, charming and very passionate. The decor was tasteful and fun! Views across the river from the shared balcony are beautiful. Breakfast was ample and tasty. We would love to return to the valley and works definitely stay here again!

The house has a large garden where the family grows own fruits and vegetables. For breakfast they serve home-made apricot and strawberry jams. The room was very clean and well-equipped. The house is situated on a calm street, it was very quiet. Breakfast was very good. Krems is very close - you just need to cross the bridge over the river.

La posizione era perfetta, soprattutto per noi che percorrevamo in bicicletta la ciclabile sul Danubio, con la possibilità di mettere al sicuro le bici per la notte. Ottima ospitalità di tutto il personale, giovane ed entusiasta, ambientazione decisamente originale, ottima colazione, abbondante, particolare e non a buffet. Bella terrazza con vista sul Danubio a disposizione degli ospiti.
