My booked room got upgraded without extra fees. It's clean and cozy. It's within the area where the examination was held.

Hotell Gamla Fängelset is a converted prison from 1861 located in central Umeå and offers free WiFi and breakfast. All rooms have windows and shared bathroom facilities. I booked in rather a hurry and somehow missed the detail that this property is a converted 1800s prison! The conversion has been done to a high standard; the history of the building is clearly visible but everything feels well maintained, fresh, bright, clean and - for a former prison - remarkably cosy. The staff are super-friendly and I was made to feel extremely welcome. The kitchen is big and very well equipped. The location, a short walk from both the river and the town centre, made this a great base even for a very short stay in Umeå. Late check-in was not a problem and I had received a door code in advance by SMS text message (not via the Booking.com system!) - my inability to find it was my own fault, due to disorganisation and the complexity of my journey, but my quick out-of-hours call to reception late on a Sunday evening was handled in a very friendly manner and I was soon inside the building.

U&me hotel is located in the center of Umeå, just 50 meters from the Umeälv. The contemporary furnished rooms all have a fantastic view of the city or the river. Keskeinen sijainti. Siisti hotelli, hieno näkymä joelle. Tilava 3 hengen huone. Itsepalvelu Check-in toimi hyvin, kun tajusin oikein tekstiviesteinä tulleet varausnimet. Olimme varanneet siis kolme huonetta, kaikki olivat minun nimelläni, pienin nimivariaatioin. Saimme huoneet jo ennen luvattua klo 15, ja ne oli ehditty siivota. Suihkussa oli shampoo ja hiustenhoitoaine tarjolla. Aamupala oli runsas, appelsiinimehu ihanan kylmää ja raikasta, plussaa vohveleista.

Tämä Uumajan keskustassa sijaitseva hotelli on vain 50 metrin päässä Umeälven-joelta. Hotellissa on ilmainen Wi-Fi, ravintola, baari ja moderneja huoneita, joissa on taulu-tv satelliittikanavilla. Hyvä sijainti, huone siisti ja hiljainen. Sänky hyvä. Aamiainen maistuva, monipuolinen. Näkymä ikkunasta puistoon tosi kaunis.
