Well I think I may have found the perfect hotel!! The room, food, decor, location, atmosphere, all spot on! but what really made this place great was the staff, all so kind and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble and everything done with a smile. We are a charity and couldn't have achieved our mission on Santa Maria without the help of the amazing Sophia, an absolute credit to Charming Blue, thank you so much from all the team and crew at The Maiden Factor. The 4-star Hotel Santa Maria is located just 1 km from the Santa Maria Airport and features a large garden and an outdoor swimming pool. Very quiet and spacious hotel. Restaurant on site. Comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing atmosphere. A very good base for exploring the island of Santa Maria

This 4-star hotel is situated close to Vila do Porto, a 10-minute drive from the airport, the mountain and the beach of Praia Formosa. Traveling with My 1 year old and arriving early, check in wasn’t for a decent amount of time but they were able to thankfully get Me a room ready within a hour and a half. Comes with breakfast. Has a bar and food available for lunch or dinner. There is a kids room which I enjoyed. Not far of a walk from the center and was nice to see the animals. Beautiful view from room!

QUINTA DO FALCÃO has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Almagreira. With garden views, this accommodation features a patio. The country house has private entrance. Everything well maintained and service went the extra mile with us being late. The next day we could stay as long as we wanted because there was no other booking. Short cab ride from the main city (~10€). Recommended!

A recently renovated holiday home set in Vila do Porto, Cosy Private Cottage w/sea views & wifi features a garden. The property features garden and quiet street views. The place is amazing. Aideen is great. If you're looking for a place that's kind of isolated on your own hill top in the middle of nowhere, yet just up the hill from a small town with a great restaurant, look no further. Awesome sunrise when you wake up in the morning. Beautiful stars at night.

Set in Santo Espírito in the Santa Maria region, Villa - Cantinho do Paraíso offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This place is paradise on earth. The Villa is breathtaking. It is at a perfect location with amazing views. The rooms themselves are modern, intuitive, and comfortable. The grounds are impeccable and Susana and Nestor make you feel like you’re part of the family. The pet donkeys were one of the best parts, as was the bee workshop and a tour of the island with Miguel. We felt sad to leave, and will definitely be back to visit again.

Located in Santa Bárbara, Alo Baía São Lourenço provides accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. Everything! cosy well thought house in a beautiful location and a very friendly host with attention for details

Set in Vila do Porto in the Santa Maria region, Casita - Cantinho do Paraíso offers accommodation with access to a hot tub. It was outstandingly gorgeous and the surroundings were breathtaking.

Casa dos Valentes is set in Santo Espírito. This holiday home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. A rustic house with a view, outside the village (700 m to the Brasilian bar in Santo Espírito). On a small hill with a tricky but manageable drive up. Pedro is a very helpful and responsible host and in case of any problem (we had with a hot water) he reacted immediately. The casa with all comfort needed for a nice stay on the island. We recommend Casa dos Valentes very much.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Quinta de São José is situated in São Pedro. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Everything was just excellent.
