Situated in Brumunddal, 16 km from Hamar Cathedral Ruins, Wood Hotel by Frich's features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Honestly I love this place. The view is absolutely staggering (there's a viewing platform on the top floor). The breakfast was the best hotel buffet I've ever seen (salmon, cheese, fresh fruit, loads more). And the hotel is made of WOOD! Amazing.

Located in Biri on the shores of Lake Mjøsa, Honne Hotell and Konferansesenter has a dining hall overlooking the lake. A true gem! A very well preserved time capsule from the early 70's. I'm usually not a big fan of 70's architecture, but whoever designed this hotel in 1972 knew what he/she was doing. Unlike most hotels from this era it is also very well maintained and preserved in its original form, with everything in perfect order and working as intended. Most hotels in this category would either be quite run down or "renovated" without any consideration for the original atmosphere (thus losing whatever charm it might once have possessed). Not so Honne. I was also very impressed with the two ladies working the reception ....and the dinner service ...and the breakfast service. How they cope with that work load, while still being extremely efficient and friendly is beyond me. Hats off! The same is probably true for the maintenance staff, which appears to take great pride in preserving this hotel in perfect condition and in its original form.

* Newly renovated Aksjemøllen by Classic Norway, has a unique atmosphere and charm. Modern, clean and very comfortable room for a family (2 adults and a child). Perfect location for visiting Lillehammer only a few minutes walk from train station. The adjoining restaurant is lovely and the food was brilliant - good selection of vegetarian food too. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

This hotel is 700 metres from Hafjell Alpine Centre and Bike Park in the scenic Gudbrandsdalen Valley. It offers a free ski storage and guest rooms with a fridge and cable TV. The location, it is so close to the ski area. It was clean, the breakfast was good, the parking is free, heated bathroom floor.

Situated on Lillehammer’s main street, Storgata, this hotel offers a free evening meal and free WiFi internet access. Birkebeineren Ski Stadium is within 15 minutes’ drive. Very good staff. Helpful beyond compare.

Hunderfossen Family Park and Hafjell are 20 minutes’ drive away.... A small hotel in the heart of Lillehammer that’s perfect for taking a break from driving and close to Oslo. I have booked a room for two people which was wonderful and comfortable it had great cozy beds and full functional bathroom that had everything from towels to shampoo. Th view from the room window was something else, relaxing nature sounds and trees to help you sleep, which what I needed after 6 hour drive, also at the reception area you can find a little place that has few coffee and tea and you can buy something to eat like noodles, popcorn and chips to fill you stomach. In the morning I was welcomed to the most amazing and delicious breakfast I had which had everything and matched everyone from vegan to meat lovers , with your preferred drink hot or cold like fresh juice. The 3 stars was 5min walk to the open air museum which I loved and recommend every one to have a look to it.

This 5th-generation family-run hotel dates back to 1877 and is located in Hafjell Mountain, 17.5 km from central Lillehammer. It offers a private 9-hole golf course. The staff was extremely helpful. Good location and breakfast. Attention to details.

Overlooking Lake Mjøsa and the River Lågen, this property is 30 minutes’ walk from Lillehammer’s pedestrian street, Storgata. Free WiFi is provided. I love how nicely done is every detail of the hotel. Very cozy. Very close to the center, or supermarket. It is nice for an active holiday, or also for a more relax time.

Featuring spa centre with a sauna and both indoor and outdoor pools, this hotel is only 900 metres from the Lillehammer Train Station. I was traveling with a four year old, so from that perspective I can say the following: By the reception there’s a playroom for 0-4 year olds (with two comfy chairs for the adults!) which was highly appreciated. There was also an activity room a few floors down for older kids (ping pong table etc). The indoor pool was great! The spa had a quiet section that was separate from the pool, I really liked this as it made me comfortable bringing my kid to the pool without being a nuisance to others. Great breakfast for both kids and adults! The restaurant also had a decent kids menu for dinner. Great outdoor area to let your kids run around (also with mini golf). Really nice and helpful staff.
