Get there early, do the 1.1 km circular walk at the start of the day, have a coffee at the bar on the way, see the Ponte dei Torri and then do La Rocca (which closes for lunch) opens, then closes by 18.45.

Great mountaintop place to stay.
Great mountaintop place to stay. Beautiful views of valley and other mountain too villages. The BnB was very comfortable with everything you need. You will need a car or friend to drive you around but a great base

Look from far but consider if its really worth the trip - the museum inside is far from exceptional and getting there, although helped by recent automated lifts, means you have to leave the car much behind, after navigating through Spoleto not easy streets

It is near plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, which are also quite lively on a weekend. The sofa bed was extremely comfortable in the lounge area, and apartment was comfortable. The main part of the old town is a easy walk up the hill and steps into the main street, where there are more restaurants and plenty of sightseeing opportunities. To access La Rocca there is a short walk to the lift to take you to the top.
