Located in Ponta Delgada, Santa Alegria Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Everything, the Hostel is located very near to the city Center, there is a supermarket very near as well as small restaurants and it is relatively easy to park in the area. The Hostel is new and very well kept, the kitchen is equipped with everything needed to cook and the included breakfast is good. The cherry on top: the day we left, the owner prepared us a lunchbox for the trip with our name on, so nice 🙂

Azores Inn - Family Suites is set in Ponta Delgada, within 24 km of Sete Cidades Lagoon and 25 km of Lagoa Verde. Awesome place to stay in Ponta Delgada. It is near the city center and the sea, so you can reach everything by foot. Close to some good restaurants as well. Really comfortable bed. Airconditioning makes the temperature of the room perfect for every weather :)

Situated in Ponta Delgada, 12 km from Pico do Carvao, PDL Green House features air-conditioned accommodation and a terrace. We had a wonderful stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the terrace is beautiful and never too busy, the bed was big and comfortable. The details of the buildings and the interior are really well done, you can tell it was done with care, and we just felt good staying here.

Situated in Ponta Delgada and with Pico do Carvao reachable within 12 km, Magma Hostel features a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. The location in Old Town was excellent! I loved having a private room ensuite with the shared kitchen and living spaces. The balcony was a nice space to have a glass of wine and relax. The entire hostel was spotless and well appointed. The shower was hot with good pressure. Free street parking or nearby lot parking was available. The host was friendly and responded to all inquiries quickly, even walked my husband to the nearest market for sundries on our first day.

Not only it's clean, it's spacious, it feels like home, and the owner is adorable (just 3 words: fresh homemade cake every morning!), but everything you always thought "would be nice if..." has already been thought and put there for you. A nice full kitchen? YES. A comfortable shelf and bag where to put your things while in bed (with curtains obviously)? YES. Washing machine and place to hang your clothes? YES. And so much more :)

Located in Ponta Delgada, 12 km from Pico do Carvao, THE HOLY COW - Hostel & Suites provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. Nice clean room. Big room. Good basic breakfast. You enter your room and in the building with the pin code. You can park your car in the streets for free. Sometimes you are lucky and you get spot right in front of the hostel, sometimes a few minutes away. Nice, helpfull employes.

13 km from Pico do Carvao, Pé Direito is located in Ponta Delgada and provides air-conditioned rooms. The owner was excellent, always smiling and checking in with everyone making sure they were enjoying themselves. She also volunteered a lot of tips and suggestions if you're looking for things to do. There's a large coffee table with brochures for everything in the common area from car rentals to tours to restaurants if you're like me and are a bit more of a go with the flow traveler. It is possible you get there and no one is at the desk to let you in, but just ring the bell and either another person staying will let you in or staff will hear the phone ringing and get to you in between laundry, preparing beds, cleaning, and other responsibilities they have to attend to. Usually there are 1-2 people on hand. Later at night, there might not be anyone around, but I believe they ensure someone is there when they are expecting a new arrival. When I arrived, it was about 9:30 at night and the owner had just stepped out. Other people let me in and I just hung out for about 5-10 minutes until she came back. And that was just because I didn't have a phone to call them. There are numbers posted you can call via WhatsApp or local number. There is a TV in the common area if you want to watch Netflix or something. It wasn't used much while I was there, but it's available if you want/need it. The beds were comfortable. Rooms have AC with a remote to control the temp. Common areas didn't seem to have AC, but it was never hot inside. There's a patio for smoking or lounging. No view for that area, but it's still a pleasant place to sit and chat. Lots of utensils and cookware in the kitchen area. Multiple coffee and tea options as well as a water dispenser with which you're able to fill your water bottle or a cup for fresh water. Kettle for hot water. There are labels and pens for labeling your food and drinks if you want them to be kept safe in the fridge. Bathrooms were very clean--cleaned every day.

This is an immaculate hostel that is well cared for, and is thoughtfully designed for the traveler to have everything. The kitchen had everything you need and the breakfast was generously supplied. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet because the windows are well insulated in canceling any outside noise. The other guests are very respectful. This is a very quiet Hostel the bathrooms are clean and the water pressure is strong and the water is hot. There is a laundromat a block away and very convenient. The hosts responded immediately to any questions and were always available to help. Alex had many great suggestions for activities on the island. Check in and check out was smooth and easy. The location was ideal. I highly recommend booking here, and I will definitely return.
