The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. On Friday mornings there is an organic vegetable market in the side street close to the EuroSpar grocery store that sells delicious local produce.

This lower area of Lagundo, where my hotel is, is not the best. There is another area of Lagundo, higher in the side of the mountain, with better view and nicer ways to take a ride. But Lagundo is often chosen to stay, because it's near Meran. Center of Meran is about 2,5 km from the hotel. From my point of view, Meran is a must in Sudtirol (and in the Alps).

The room was spacious, with a wonderful view. Breakfast was perfect. Staff was unbelievably helpful and always greeted us with a smile. Photos don't do it justice. They literally thought of every small detail: a morning newsletter, tickets for public transportation, a pool bag, a hiking bag.
