This is a place with a million dollar view high in the mountains. Kind of a farm house, restored. Very basic, but well done. If you love nature, this is it. We were simply taken away by this place.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day.
Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys.
The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys. They can be quite steep, so wear flat shoes with a good tread. From the hillside and the duomo you will enjoy amazing views of the mountains and the valley. The newer section of town outside the walls is also lovely and worth a visit.
Everything was perfect! The apartment is a peaceful little gem with a big terrace and a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. The location is very convenient, Barga city centre can be easily reached with a 5 minutes walk and it's a good base to reach many trails and attractions in Garfagnana. The hosts, Mairi and Fabio, are incredibly nice and gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We'll definitely go back when visiting Garfagnana again!
The location was wonderful - a quiet street in the charming old town part of Barga with good restaurants very close by including a lively cafe with good food in a loggia. Giordano was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is exceptionally interesting, in a multi-floor large house, with several rooms full of paintings. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, not fancy but with a great view of the town and mountains. Overall, my wife and I loved out stay.
We loved this villa from early 1900s with its remarkable Art Nouveau decor and furnishings, large rooms, including a terrace for the buffet breakfast, a lovely garden setting a short walk from central Barga, safe parking, and a great welcome from the staff, notably Nadia and Beatrice. When we left something important behind Beatrice organized a courier to send it to us at our next location, for which we were very grateful. It would be a pleasure to stay again.
The name literally means In the Sky…of Barga…and the location lived up to its name. It is located just below the Duomo, the highest point in this enchanting medieval town. From the room and its nice sized balcony, the rooftops are just below, offering incomparable vistas of Barga and the Serchio River valley. Great bed. Nice bathroom. But it’s the views that are incomparable.
The rooms were gorgeous and loved the balconies. It’s in a wonderful location and has beautiful grounds. The pool is fabulous to lounge around and the staff were all so kind and friendly. Overall it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant L’Altana was so delicious we ate their two nights in a row.!!! history of the hotel made it an even more special place to stay

Barga is a dreamy location. This house is perfectly located at the foot of the old city. The staff was attentive. The one bedroom upstairs is comfortable, and Lee other room with the trundle bed was fine for my adult son who joined us. At this price and that location it was perfect.
Beautiful quiet rural location with great views over the valley. Very friendly and helpful owners. The house and the rooms are well kept and clean. Hiking paths nearby.
The beautiful medieval town of Barga is at walking distance, although the return is uphill.

The owner Adele was very helpful and is bilingual English/Italian. The breakfast was plentiful and amazing. The view from our window overlooking the town of Barga was incredible.
The managers of this hotel - Cathy and Walter - are so extraordinarily helpful and kind. One may come to them with any sort of question, and they will find the ideal solution.
Hidden location in the mountains around Barga... Great view, very friendly and discrete hosts, good cook!
