Superb location across from the amphitheatre entrance to the ruins. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were fine. Pompei is not a luxurious location, it is very touristy and entirely geared toward the incredible historical site that is right there. This hotel is as great as you will find in the town and a very comfortable stay.
Set in its extensive garden, 500 metres from the Pompei ruins, Hotel Diana offers free WiFi in all rooms and a shared terrace. Private parking is free onsite.

Excellent location, close to the station and the ruins. Excellent staff, helpful and polite, breakfast excellent!
Just 5 minutes from the archaeological site, this hotel takes its name from the ruins of an ancient Pompeian villa located on the same street.

The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station and busstop, plus only a few hundred metres from the entrance of the Pompei ruins. The bus took us to the entrance of the Vesuvius, ideal for our destination, the walk to the top. (no toilets there, so go at the station/bus stop)
Located next to the Pompei Santuario Station, Hotel Palma is just a short stroll away from Pompeii’s ancient ruins. Enjoy views of Mount Vesuvius from its panoramic terrace.

The Hotel is right in front of the regional trainstation which makes arrival from napoli easy and the entrance to the ruins of Pompei is only a short walk away. From where also the public bus up Vesuv has its first stop and its still easy to get seats on it.. The breakfast was very good. The room was cosy and the staff very friendly and helpful.
There is a wonderful rooftop area with whirlpool - but it wasn't operational yet and we had no time to use it - but i think it must be very nice.
Hotel Maiuri Pompei is in the heart of Pompeii and offers free parking, both on site and by the archaeological site.

Our stay at Hotel Maiuri was very pleasant. The room was lovely and clean. We booked a taxi to the ruins as we had a tour booked. The hotel manager drove us and showed us all the hi lights of Pompeii which was very kind. The ruins were amazing by the way. There was a restaurant opposite which served great food for dinner.
Hotel Calypso is sure to leave you with happy memories. Set 10 minutes' stroll from the station and the ruins, this small hotel is renowned for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Fly to Naples International Airport, 25km from Pompei. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train (40 minutes). Alternatively, drive via A3 motorway (30 minutes). For domestic travellers, direct trains from Rome take approximately 2 hours.
The most convenient airport for Pompei, Italy is Naples International Airport. It's ideal due to its proximity, approximately 30 kilometres away, and its extensive domestic and international flight connections.

Obviously the ruins (Scavi) are the main draw, but the town is very pretty. The Catholic Basilica does not have the size of the major basilicas in Rome, but it is just as beautiful. You do not have to stay here in order to see the ruins, but it does make it a less hectic experience. The ruins are free on the first Sunday of every month and on certain holidays. We went for free on Liberation Day (25 Apr).

Definitely a great place to stay to see the nearby attractions but, despite having three train stations, the transport links are not great. We were based here for a week and found the public transport frustrating. Last minute platform changes for trains only announced in Italian and giving insufficient time to change to the right platform. Buses leaving up to ten minutes early or not stopping. There is a Flixbus to Sorrento but it only gives three and a bit hours on a day trip from Pompei. To visit Capri we had to have a night in Sorrento which was an unexpected extra expense. On a final note if you eat gluten free the choice is fantastic. It is understood and catered for!

Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
As a solo female traveler I always felt very safe, and I was able to fully enjoy and explore both the city, and the sights like the ruins and mount vesuvius.
Note that there aren’t any Ubers or any easy way to get a taxi if you’re staying a little outside the main city core (I stayed at a 30 minute walk away from the Main Street), but it’s very walkable and there’s pavement all around, and some busses if you can figure them out but I generally just walked everywhere :)
There’s also areas for parking if you’re bringing/renting a car or even for campers and RV’s right next to the city centre (abt 3-5min walk from the Main Street).
The Pompeii ruins are a must visit and I recommend going with a guide that’s also an archeologist, I found several tours including the one I took that also went to Herculaneum via GetYourGuide. There I also found the “tour” (just a shuttle bus really) that went to the highest entrance of Mount Vesuvius (leaving a 20min/1km hike to the top of the crater) which was also very cool and I definitely recommend going there too while you’re in Pompeii!

The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit.
The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit. We booked a personal guide with Askos tours. A fella by the name of Alfredo. He was an archaeologist and had worked on the excavation of Pompei so he was full of amazing facts. You can walk around on your own but without the right guide it would be a waste. So many amall details that you would miss on your own. Its a long day walking but worth every step. I would highly recommend seeing it.

We took a tour with archaeologist which was interesting.
We took a tour with archaeologist which was interesting. sadly it was afternoon so did not have long to look around and places closed at 4pm. would go in first and look around or spend longer after. January nice and quiet.
Everything was amazing from beginning to end! Luca is the most amazing host, so attentive and helped us with tours, tips and info of Pompei.
The room was spotless and has everything you need including amazing view of Vesuvius! Breakfast was delicious with various options.
The place itself is down a quiet street but 2 mins away from restaurants and shops with a supermarket next door.
The Pompei excavations are only 5-10 min walk away and 5 min walk from the train station.
The best stay we had in the 2 weeks of staying in Italy by far :)
One of the best experiences. The owners are lovely and helpful. The house is clean, AC works great, the breakfast was top-notch, and the pool was beautiful and refreshing. You cannot beat the location - walking distance from the Pompei ruins, several restaurants, and the train station to get on the train to Sorento, Positano, Rome. We were also allowed to leave our car on the premises after we checked out for the entire day - which saved us a headache and money on parking when we went to tour Pompei and Vesuvius. We loved it!
This is a high class excellent hotel and experience. We loved our room. The bed was super comfortable. Its the best that is available in Pompeii that we saw. The restaurant on the rooftop is the JEWEL of the hotel. Do yourself a favor and eat at this WONDERFUL restaurant. We wish we got the tasting menu, but every morsel of the gourmet food we had was amazing and prepare with LOVE. Breakfast buffet was also lovely. The place was roomy and comfortable. I would have stayed longer!
This hotel was convenient and close to the Pompei ruins. The train station is close by so you can go and check out other cities close to it. It was the best hotel I stayed in so far. The breakfast was amazing and the staff members went above and beyond to make my stay most comfortable. They also helped me navigate to mount Vesuvius and then finally to my next destination. This was an amazing experience, will definitely come and stay here in the future.
The BnB was very well maintained. It is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in yet. You would have to go to a luxury hotel to find something better. The owner is very helpful and takes a lot of pride in the building and the area. He will give you great tips on where to go and how to get there. A must stay if you are planning on going to Pompeii or even Naples.
The owner, Enrico is a real gent, a very gracious host, made sure everything was great for us. his breakfast was the best we had in Italy which is saying something. To cap it all, he gave us an insiders track on how to get the most out our time at the Roman ruins which we found invaluable. Could not have been better.
We loved the service provided by the staff. You could not find this type of service, not even in a 5 Star Hotel. Always smiling, polite, courteous and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. The Hotel’s location is only a short walk to Pompeii. We highly recommend staying here.
The location across from the Pompeii ruins and close to two train stations make it a great place to stay. The warm welcome by the staff and the cat gave the hotel a homely feeling. I did not partake in breakfast and was therefore glad that it was an option to omit breakfast from the price as well.
Really nice stay metres away from the entrance to the Pompeii Ruins. Wonderful staff, great restaurant down stairs. Francesco and Salvatore were wonderful and we highly recommend at least one visit to them, if anything just to try a Napoli Pizza. Most comfortable bed we’ve had to date in Italy
Great property and lovely family hosting it. Absolutely loved the theming of the room and the heating worked great, which has been rare in the south of Italy so far. Also allowed us to leave our bags for free while we visited Herculaneum for the day. Breakfast was great too!
A lovely apartment with a balcony ideally situated to visit the ruins of Pompei. The place was very clean throughout and the quality of the furnishings and fittings was the best we experienced during our time in Italy. We would not hesitate to use it again.
Excellent location, awesome music-themed room, clean, comfortable, with a well-working air conditioner for the hot mid-July days of Italy. Great varied breakfast. Very close to the Pompei Ruins. Nearby parking lot options that are inexpensive. 10/10
In a great location, walking distance from the ruins of Pompeii you'll find a boutique hotel with only a few rooms and the loveliest host one can find.
The room was super comfortable and breakfast was wonderful
Anna was the best host. She was very friendly and kind. She answered any questions we had. The B&B was also very clean and comfortable. It was at a good location, close to the Pompeii ruins.
Such a cozy and clean room, lovely garden and best location. Big thank to Giuseppe for the hospitaly. Great coffee in the breakfast and the best pizza in Bella Vesta restaurant ♥️
Was made so welcome from the first minute. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. If we are back in Pompei we would definitely be staying at Hotel Palma.
