Everything! The room was lovely and clean, lots of choices for breakfast and the staff are amazing! I had an accident on day 3 of my trip and had to leave early to go home. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, couldn’t do enough for which I am incredibly grateful. The hotel is minutes from the port and the town centre.

Average breakfast, at least croissants and bread were fresh. Sheets and towels were fresh. The bed was comfortable. Some of staff members were really nice. The only really good thing was that we could park motorcycles in garage (of course we had to pay 5 € per bike per night) so that they stayed dry when it was raining.
Set literally just a few steps from the beach on a beautiful bay, Hotel Mare Blue features breathtaking views of Tavolara Island and comfortable rooms in typical Emerald Coast style.

Olbia is all about the sea, and what a glorious turquoise sea it is. As the gateway to Sardinia’s stunning Emerald Coast, this down-to-earth town is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous resorts. However, it does have attractions of its own.
The simple Basilica of San Simplicio dates to the 11th century and the Church of St Paul the Apostle is also medieval. The National Archaeology Museum houses Roman ships, as well as prehistoric artefacts from the surrounding area.
Sardinia has a wealth of prehistoric structures and one of these – the Tomba dei Giganti Su Monte‘e S’Abe – is near Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and medieval Pedres Castle. Across the bay is Sa Testa Sacred Well, dating to at least 1200 BC.
Along the coast in Pittulongu are the real attractions – fantastic, unspoilt beaches from where you can see rocky Tavolara Island, a popular diving site. In summer, boats sail there from Isola Bianca Harbour, the arrival point of ferries from the Italian mainland. The harbour’s fishing boats are responsible for the fantastic mussels in Olbia’s seafood restaurants, some of which are amid bars and shops on Corso Umberto – the locals’ favourite passeggiata spot.
The Olbia accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury spa hotels, apartments near the beach and cheap B&Bs.

We stayed in Olbia for two nights when we arrived in Sardegna and three nights when before we departed. Olbia has all the services available you need including banks, supermarkets, restaurants, and green spaces. The city center has many shops and is clean and nice to walk around as traffic is not permitted during peak hours. There are numerous archeological sites and beaches within an easy drive from the city. The buses and trains run regularly. Very nice outdoor market on Tuesdays near the train station where you can purchase fresh local vegetables and fruit, meat and cheeses and souvenirs. There are several historic churches in town. The airport is small but well equipped with a variety of food options, drink and shops. Both arrival and departure went well.

Olbia is a practical town to stay in because you can travel by bus or car to Sardinia’s top attractions. There is a lot of action on the Corso Umberto and surroundings but overall I found only a few good places to eat. The airport is close and easy to reach via public transportation. All in all I would recommend it as a place where you spend the night but you plan your day to day visiting the amazing beaches and hikes.

If you are travelling around northern Sardinia then I would recommend a visit to Alghero rather than Olbia.
There are very few places of interest in Olbia and the traffic network is very hard to negotiate with confusing signage in many parts.

A trip to Olbia felt like visiting the 'real' Italy.
A trip to Olbia felt like visiting the 'real' Italy. Tourists per se are not specially catered for, although there are tours of La Maddalena from Palau, dolphin spotting etc.
But what you do get is a warm welcome from local people.
Lively bars, but not thumping clubs.
- and the food is amazing, with a particular focus on local delicacies as well as fresh fish and seafood.
Easy to get to local beaches (Bados and Pittulongu) which have beach bars. plenty of loungers and parasols to hire for the day. Turquoise waters, sandy beaches.

Olbia is near aeroport, port, beaches, attractions, resorts.
Olbia is near aeroport, port, beaches, attractions, resorts. Lovely evenings in the car-free corso (main road) with restaurants, bars, market, karaoke, entertainers, hotels. 15 minutes drive to amazing Porto Rotondo and San Teodoro.
I had the absolute best stay at Hotel Regina Elena. The staff is extremely professional and are extremely willing to help you out with booking tours, taxis, etc. They went above and beyond to help me get on a last minute tour to La Maddalena. The location of the hotel is incredible - just walking distance to absolutely everything. They offer breakfast in the morning too. The space is super clean and the rooms are cozy. Would highly recommend Hotel Regina Elena to anyone visiting Olbia. I’m planning my next trip back!
1) Hotel location - 15 minutes walking to downtown, airport reachable by Bus N° 2 (Bus stop_Centro Martini & walk 5 minutes and voilá). No noisy at all, which is a plus as I like quiet environments to sleep peacefully. 2) Beach nearby, there is a bus stop N° 4 in Via dei Lidi that takes you to the nearest beaches. 3) Change of room. I have an issue with the main room door but they kindly changed rooms without hassle. 4) Price/Quality. 5) Kiosk. There was a grocery store where you could buy bread, fruits, water, etc.
We had a great stay at Hotel DP. Our room was spacious with a large outdoor balcony area. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was great. Breakfast was generous and the highlight was the Pool area. The pool itself is wonderful. The bar besides the pool run by a really friendly staff member who made the most delicious cocktails. And this is the most incredible spot to enjoy those famous Olbia sunsets. Some of Olbia's spectacular beaches are within a 10 min drive from the hotel. We loved our stay!
2 nights on our return to Olbia airport at the end of 2 weeks cycle touring. Gea had looked after our 2 bike bags after our first 2 nights here. It was lovely to return to Kaina which felt like our home in Sardinia! This was by far the best place we stayed (we stayed in 7 similar places, similar priced) and by far the best breakfast. Gea is wonderful host. A short walk to the historical town centre, 2 minutes walk to the airport bus stop (4 buses each hour, 7 minute journey). Perfect!
This is one of the best hotels ever, according to my parents who just spent there her little holidays. Not only from the entrance you feel like home, you are welcomed with smile and hospitality, but you can count on anything you need. The crew, the waiters, cooks - all gently around and ready to help. Excellent food, super clean, extra comfortable. Quiet yet close to the beach. Greenery around and amazing atmosphere inside. Do you need more?
Piero was very kind and offered us his apartment for one night before our flight home. It is located 15 min walk from Airport and also 8 min by local Bus from nice nearby beach. You can find a mini supermarket and a few Pizzerias around. Also a few local bars and cafes. It is a best place to stay for overnight before leaving Sardinia or even for longer period due to close proximity to Tavolara, Olbia and so beautiful beaches.
Close to the beach, quiet location, clean with everything you need, with kitchen, garden, parasol for the beach, bike available, coffee shop 2 mins walk, restaurants in the area, local shop 5 mins walk, close to Costa Smeralda, 8 mins drive from Olbia, 25 mins drive from Porto Cervo or Porto Rotondo, very friendly and helful host, books with Sardinian beaches available (we loved our stay)
Enrico communicated direct and easy instructions to self -check in. The compact suite was clean.. bed was comfortable, spacious bath with shower. the proximity to the Olbia airport was a the reason for choosing this place .. it was 6 min. away from the airport and we were able to fill up the car on the way to airport . would stay here again . thank you, Enrico!
Location was great, very near airport, staff were very helpful and accommodating, best breakfast at a lodging we’ve had in ages, room was freshly decorated and comfortable, on site restaurant (had a Michelin star?), highly recommend this hotel, especially if you’re arriving jet lagged in evening or leaving early am, they even had a breakfast bag to go.
What a wonderful place to stay. Short walk to a number of great beaches. Breakfast was great and to sit watching the sea from the terrace.... magic.
A number of restaurants close by within walking distance. The owner was helpful.
We had a great time and it is on our list for our return to Sardinia
Wonderful hosts. We felt very comfortable and welcome. Lovely and charming place in a great Mediterranean style. Absolutely tidy and beautiful interior design. The Pittulongo beach was one of the best beaches that we saw during our trip to Sardinia.
Emilio provided more personalized service than any 5 star hotel, pre arrival he organized our car rental, he was fantastic during our stay and even drove us to our car rental, we are coming back on our way home from Sardinia for sure.
We liked having taxi from airport be organized for us, the location being close to beach, the secureness of the property, the outdoor sun chairs, the white clean sheets and towels, and the general aesthetic of the property.
I was hoping for a clean comfortable hotel for my last night in Sardinia. I chose an airport hotel for convenience. Jazz hotel far exceeded my expectations, it was excellent in all departments, a very pleasant surprise.
Amazing little beach, hotel provides (limited amount) of beds and umbrellas, lovely breakfast, very nice rooms; there were also outside shower facilities available which is always a bonus:)
Good location 15mins from the centre. Hotel has a nice pool. Train station is next to the hotel so ideal if you are travelling around Sardinia also buses are nearby for easy access to beach
Great location, super close to the airport and all of the beautiful beaches. The host was wonderful and picked us up from the airport at midnight.
Laundry machine available on-site.
The general area is nice, close to the beach, close enough but not too close to the town, and not far from Olbia's airport.
It is also quiet and has a very nice beach restaurant.
I liked that the hotel was in a nice quiet town and close to some beautiful beaches. The staff were friendly and it was lovely to have breakfast each morning in the garden.
