We received a very warm welcome from the minute we arrived, with nothing too much trouble. The Priory is a lovely place to stay, in the heart of the village - but quiet so had a great nights sleep. Will definitley stay again.

The Annexe, hotel in Middleham

Situated 25 km from Lightwater Valley Theme Park, The Annexe features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Located to the rear of a working farm, a very warm welcome awaited us at 'The Annexe' Hayley and Sam were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble , although everything was provided...and I mean e v e r y t h i n g ! The bed was even comfier than ours at home 😮 It's a short walk to the local public houses, with equestrian chatter all around Also, horses can be seen training on the gallops a mere half mile away The beautiful pastoral view, includes ducks and geese on the water, cows lowing and swallows on the wing Waking up here so so peaceful If we were to be stranded anywhere this would be our number one wish I would suggest at least two nights

Beautiful views and walks Friendly people Great pubs And got to see lots of race horses I would highly recommend the Coverbridge Inn that you can walk along the river to probably about 2 miles away. This pub is friendly and a traditional pub with great ales and delicious home cooked food

Picturesque little market village with the added interest of several race horse stables in the location. A walk up to the gallops early in the morning to watch the horses train is definitely worthwhile, as is a visit to the medieval castle.

Visited The Forbidden Corner which was great fun.

Visited The Forbidden Corner which was great fun. We had a light lunch at the cafe on site, which was nicely presented. Evening meal was taken at the Three Horseshoes which was about a 15 minute drive away. Called in at Aysgarth Waterfalls on the way home the following day. The Forbidden Corner was very busy as it was the school holidays, however as visits are timed, I think this helps when planning a visit.

Middleham is a lovely place to stay if you like history as there is Middleham Castle right there, plus a lovely mediaeval church, St Mary's and St Akelda's. It's not far to many other great locations such as Aysgarth Falls (where the fight scene in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves was filmed), Bolton Castle, Jerveaulx Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Sheriff Hutton, Ripon, etc. The only negative is that it is sometimes difficult to get a late meal in Middleham itself, however there are plenty of other eating places nearby if you have a car. The Richard III B&B does do great food and the fish and chip shop is also very good. It is hilly, so be prepared to huff and puff up the hill to the castle! And, if you have kids, don't miss The Forbidden Corner - the weirdest place on earth - only about 3 miles away. Set aside about four hours!

Wesley Cottage is an absolute gem, situated in the center of a charming North Yorkshire Village. It was so cozy but with all modern conveniences. The beds and linens were exceptionally comfortable. The property has been beautifully renovated and restored. The hosts were gracious and very helpful when we had questions. My friend and I were feeling under the weather one night, and Greg even went to the town grocery store for us to get some provisions for us for the night and following morning. I hope to return to Wesley Cottage again soon!

Absolutely loved our weekend break at the Annexe. The host Hayley has thought of everything and the accommodation inside and out if beautiful. 10/10 from us and we have booked to go back in June. Scenic and peaceful location. Close walking distance to the centre of Middleham. Loved the castle!

Absolutely everything. The cottage is immaculate, great location with parking right outside. The cottage backs on to Middleham Castle, so great views. Recommendations for pubs/restaurants/taxis were appreciated. Would come back in a heartbeat and will be sharing this place with family and friends.

Gorgeous cosy cottage in a lovely village. Extremely well equipped & comfortable, lots of little extras had been thought about. The cottage was decorated for Christmas & we had a nice festive surprise on arrival. Middleham has 3 great real ale pubs & friendly welcoming locals.

Lovely room, great shower and relaxed atmosphere. Fresh milk in the room's fridge was so much nicer than those little UHT tubs in other hotels. One of the best hotel cooked breakfasts I've had.
