My main objective was visiting Alhambra Palace, and that was wonderful, even in the rain. Bus system was good, older areas were fairly easy to walk around and navigate, even for me with older legs!
A lovely town to sit and enjoy a coffee, tapas, and watch the world go by, with many outdoor eating places. And it's the home of flamenco, something else to enjoy.
Language was not an issue for me, an English speaker with limited Spanish.

Granada is a city with a fabulous double heritage, Muslim and Catholic, with the Sierra Nevada mountains near-by and the Tropical Coast not very far. It combines culture and nature perfectly, it offers good food and wine, and plenty of opportunities to relax.

Granda is a great place to visit.
Granda is a great place to visit.
I recommend Alhambra but you need to buy tickets way in advance.
Walk around the city - the parks are wonderful, they have good brunches. In general the city vibe is good. Try a free walking tour.
Avoid the Arab district - we got scammed with candies at a local shop - too late we checked the reviews in Google Maps, seems like its a practice for that district.

Granada is a big city but the people we encountered were friendly and helpful. It was crowded and the Alhambra sold out. It was the main reason we went to Granada and because we did not have previously bought tickets we did not get to visit it. The Granada Cathedral in Old Town is beautiful. The mountains in the distance were snow-covered which were a delight to see. The streets were often lined with orange trees, also a delight to see, though the oranges are not good to eat.

Granada was best out of three - Cordoba next and then Seville. This is based on architecture and history. City Seville is good but if I want to go to one only , it will be Granada. Alcazar, Gardens and palaces great treasures but book early as sometimes no places as we heard from others. Take a guide. We enjoyed our stay at:
El Ladrón De Agua Palacete
Great hotel, location and staff. We got free upgrade, welcome fruit basket ( no charge) and late checkout without extycharge. Very flexible. Place is spotless, with top of features and furnishings.
Highly recommended. Pricy though but worth paying!

Al Hambra is a must.
Al Hambra is a must. Also, a walk suggested by Granada Tourism, starting at Mirador San Nicolas, walking thru the Albaicin, Placeta de San Miguel and the flea markets, ending in Bib-Rambla Plaza behind the cathedral. We walked up to the starting point from Gran Via but it was a very steep climb. You can catch bus C32 from near Gran Via up to the starting point.
Gorgeous little boutique hotel, the entrance hall is stunning. Check in easy, no keys all electronic on codes. Beautiful room, with a four poster canopy bed with en-suite. I was worried when I found that my room was next to a bar, but I needn't have, there was little or no noise. Heating provided by ac on hot. Shutters on the windows to keep out the light. Nice TV in the room. Superb location for Granada, for shopping, restaurants and bars and walking distance to Alhambra.
The historical and architectural elements were stunning! The views from all parts of the hotel were stunning! The rooms and beds were comfortable (except for the pillows!!). Every worker was helpful, gracious, and attentive
. The restaurant food was delicious and varied. Wonderful service. Great location for visiting the Alhambra- just a short walk through a park- or to visit the historic Albracin area also a short walk away. The highlight of our hotel stays in Spain!
The rooms were well appointed and have recently been renovated. Beds were comfortable, A/C great, showers hot. The hotel breakfasts were the best we had in Spain. The front desk people were very helpful with recommendations and dinner reservations. Location was near everything we wanted to see. We walked everywhere. Highly recommend this property. We had the junior suite which was roomy and allowed us space to visit with our adult son (who was in a twin room.)
This is a very beautiful place, very comfortable room with excellent views. The hotel is located in quiet zone but close enough to downtown and the best places to visit. The staff is just wonderful…Raquel, the manager really takes care of every detail and helps you find the best activities in Granada. The staff is also very kind and make you feel at home. This was a wonderful stay and I fully recommend the place.
Lovely small hotel with a perfect view of The Alhambra from the terrace where the charming owners offer drinks and small plates. Excellent breakfast and the chance to meet other interesting guests also visiting Granada. The best feature is the hosts, who go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The beds are great, excellent shower and modern AC, all for a very reasonable price.
Very nice place in the center of Granada. The room itself was rather small, but it had everything I needed. The quality/price ratio was very satisfactory. Lots of restaurants, bars and various stores nearby. The hotel itself is not very close to Alhambra, but thanks to the location, you can see a little bit more modern face of the city. A relatively good wi-fi, which is not always the norm in Spain.
Maribel and the other guy at the reception were the best. She was very kind and very helpful and she went the extra mile to tell us where is nice to visit in Granada. She also recommended the very nice restaurant in the hotel which we used for breakfast during our stay. Maribel is a great valuable part of your team. She is one of the reasons to return to Granada! Thank you! We loved everything.
This hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore Granada mostly on foot. The room was well-maintained and comfortable, providing a pleasant stay. The best part was that Ms.Rosa at the reception was incredibly kind and competent. As I was traveling alone, her assistance was greatly appreciated. She even booked Flamenco tickets for me. I highly recommend this hotel.
the best accommodations!!! we stayed while we traveled through Spain. spacious, clean, and in the middle of plaza nueva. The shower was amazing e weird the walls to take away for easy cleaning. king size bed 💕
A great feature is the keyless entrance. 💕A little confusing in the beginning because we were too early , but it was an easy fix - the office is just 100 meters away
The location of the hotel is indulgently perfect for exploring the local bodegas and tapas bars, and is only a few minutes further stroll to the more commercial/shopping districts
Restaurants, bars with stunning panoramas of the Alhambra are a 20 minutes or so by foot although be prepared for Granadas hills !
Location is ideal, no long walks in the hot sun to reach the city centre. Parking and supermarket literally next door. Really outstanding, helpful and friendly staff. Quiet, clean, comfortable rooms, with possibly the best showers in Spain! If you're looking for a base to explore Granada, look no further.
Beautiful, rustic and a good location. Water, tea and coffee always on offer. Friendliest service in Spain, especially from the lady at the front desk, Claudia. The manager (a lady who's name I sadly don't remember) was also fantastic and made us feel very welcome.
best location, kitchen/laundry-room/gym-room/seminar-rooms...this hotel really offers a lot!
I was super happy with my room, it was a nice mix of traditional granada-house and modern/clean/new!
The staff is very professional and friendly!
We stayed in three different cities (and accommodations) in Spain. This one was our favorite! Nuria was a great host, we loved how stylish it was, and we could easily walk to all of our activities.
The room was clean and quiet. The staff were warm and helpful. The location is ideal to see the best of Granada on foot. Best breakfast I ever had in Spain.
