We booked a suite but were silently upgraded to a suite with terrace; it consisted of a large bedroom with two chairs and a huge, attached bathroom with an enclosed toilet/bidet and an enclosed shower. It also had a balcony, a closet with doors, and simple decor in a modern style. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and there's a charming pool in the back garden (that we didn't have time to use).

A Splash of Color and History in the Heart of Catalonia
The colorful and charming gem that is Girona is on the banks of where the Ter, Onyar, Galligants and Güell rivers meet. Girona is protected by fortifications and features a remarkable medieval center along with several fine Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
The province houses the ancient Arab Baths, the Girona Cathedral, and the lovely Girona Art Museum. Due to its mountainous terrain, Girona is also a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts, and theater lovers can enjoy a performance at the Auditorium Jardins del Castell.
Girona has a lively nightlife and offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and cafés serving anything from local Basque and Catalan delicacies to traditional tapas and an array of international cuisines.
Other popular landmarks to see are the 14th-century Sant Feliu, the historical fortifications, the 11th-century Monastery of San Daniel, and the characteristic Girona Bridge.
Girona Train station offers direct connections to bustling Barcelona and the picturesque town of Portbou. Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options and deals in Girona and around Catalonia.

Girona is a beautiful town to visit and close to several other fun destinations. It's packed with historical features from roman times to the renaissance and several views of amazing architecture and charm. From here we made easy trips to Cadaques, Besalu and Tos del Mar. The food scene and night life are also a real treasure. Tapas and Sangria while seated at the Placa de Independencia were amazing.

Girona is a small charming town with lots to see.
Girona is a small charming town with lots to see. It is also a great base for going around to several nearby places like Figueres, Besalu, Lloret de Mar, Platja de Aro etc. if you want to use the public transport. The annual "temps de flors" - a flower festival in May - is a very interesting time to be there. It is a hilly town, so some parts can be difficult to explore for people with limited mobility, without assistance.

We had a great time exploring Girona - the medieval cathedral, basilica, city walls, Arab baths and alleyways; the Eiffel bridge and others and seeing the architecture along the river. Lots of lovely restaurants with good Spanish food - very reasonably price for food and drink. 3 days was maybe a bit long as it's a small city with everything accessible on foot. Should maybe have visited Figueres or the coast as well. Would advise not to go during the flower festival in May - far too busy and some of the plastic flowers ruined the sites (eg. plastic apple trees on steps of 'Game of Thrones' scene)!

Beautiful city full of life and amazing food!
Beautiful city full of life and amazing food! We loved strolling the streets finding new corners and hidden places. If you come here, go to Xibarri. They have the best burgers and desserts! It is not a typical tourist city. That is what we love about it the most.
The location is the best ever… Right in the middle of the old town and just one block from the old Jewish quarter. Room was great. The only negative is that parking is especially difficult to locate. Expect to pay $30 per day unless you are fortunate enough to find a free spot on the street. Stairs could be a big issue for some folks who are not as fit as we are. We are 62 and 72 and took our luggage up to the fourth floor via the stairs. Not a big deal for me, but it would be for many
The flat had fantastic color and personality. The location was in a neighborhood with lots of character. We found a fantastic restaurant a block away. The walk to Plaza de la Independencia under the train tracks was fun and unexpected. Crossing the river into the old town by bridge on foot was a highlight. And we had a comfortable flat with personality to return to, instead of a blah hotel room.
Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was OK, about a mile from the old town which is an easy walk. Breakfast was a good self service selection, as one expects in Spanish hotels. The cycle store facility was excellent. I accidentally left my cycle tool bag behind when I left, but the hotel staff located it and arranged for it to be shipped back to me. Thank you to all concerned.
The hotel was inconspicuous, but centrally located between the train station and the old town. Easily accessible with a door code. Check-in was easy. The rooms were simple but comfortable, with fluffy bedding, free water, tea, and coffee, and great towels. I enjoyed the lounge area on the 1st floor.
As we needed a parking space for our car, although the parking was nearby in an underground car park, this hotel had a loading and unloading bay out the front. The staff were very helpful in explaining the system to us. Breakfast was good and location to old town was great.
Everything from the location to the facility itself. It was by far the best place we’ve stayed in during our long 2-month trip around Spain. The location is fantastic and walking distance from main venues, stores, bars, restaurants, cafés. The apartment was very clean.
Great location near everything across from Nord 1901 hotel. Large well equipped one bedroom apartment. Highly recommended. Excellent air conditioning. Made early check in available. Great communication with host via Booking’s messaging until I got to the apartment.
Hotel Historic is a beautiful hotel very close to the cathedral and consequently the historic centre of Girona. The bedroom was comfortable with good facilities and the breakfast was good. Girona itself is a really interesting city and well worth a visit.
This hotel was perfect for our night in Girona! The staff was very friendly, the facilities were clean, and the bed was so comfortable. It was in a great location for us, in between the train station and the old town. I would definitely stay here again!
The Hotel Historic is a beautiful property in the Old Quarter of Girona. Situated by the Cathedral, it’s an easy walk to all the important sites. The room was more than spacious, and well appointed. The owner Javier, was helpful and cheerful as well.
An affordable hotel, just a 20 minute walk to Girona Old Town. Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff and great food. The swimming pool is a good size and the outdoor space is ample. Liked the honesty bar. Would highly recommend.
This hotel is in a perfect location for the bus and train station plus easy walking to the old town. The room was a generous size and very clean. All the staff are helpful and the cafeteria is great value for money.
If you are into cycling, the hotel has a great location. It is 10 min away from city center and it is near the local roads, they even let you keep your bike in outside storage. Just let them know upfront.
the pool and terrace area was lovely and chilled. the room was spacious and comfortable. it was great value compared to other hotels on our trip around Spain and France.
Very close to bus and train station.
Easy walk to old town and shops around hotel too.
Good location and Stuff are helpful!
Room is very clean and comfortable, perfect!
Best hotel in Girona! Friendly staff, perfect spot of parking garage. Many restaurants in the area with a tasty food, as always in Spain! Surely will come back
