Hotel Medinblu, hotel in Reggio di Calabria

Hotel Medinblu has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Reggio di Calabria. This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service and a tour desk.

Ana Mae and Antonia at the front desk helped me with issues before the trip. The two gentleman who worked the desk while I was there were equally helpful and responsive. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Even the driver that the hotel arranged was exceptional. That alone is a reason to stay here. But in addition, the location is perfect. Close to everything and in the middle of the city. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the terrace where it was served was lovely. The room was very comfortable. We had a superior triple for two people and we had lots of room between our beds plus two chairs and two desk areas. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Great support from the owner who was always very responsive and committed to assist with our concerns and needs. One of the rooms faces the street and the noise was intense at night. So he helped us moving to a quieter room and we had a great stay!

Reggio di Calabria is a beautiful and elegant city, largely dating from after the 1908 earthquake. Many buildings are in the elegant Liberty style. The Lungomare along the Straits of Messina is a great walk with views of Sicily and Etna. It has huge magnolias and pretty buildings. You can watch the sun set over Sicily. Via Garibaldi is a lively pedestrian street with many shops and cafes. The Aragonese Castle is definitely worth a visit. The Archaeology Museum is a must see with Ancient Greek art and the famous Riace Bronzes. It is a quick, 30 minute train ride to fascinating Scilla.

There was a lot of garbage in the streets.

There was a lot of garbage in the streets. Looks like it’s not collected very often which is a pity. Most pavements need to be redone as there are a lot of cracks and potholes. The main shopping area is very clean and well kept though. Trains are very punctual. Only had one delay but it wasn’t their fault as their was a fire somewhere. And only one hour delay so the train after that was on schedule. One other thing, the evening train going to Lamezia terme on a Saturday evening was full of youngsters and the boys were extremely rowdy and noisy to the extent of making me feel uncomfortable even though I wasn’t traveling alone.

The main attraction is the National Archeological Museum containing the Riace bronzes. The museum is excellent with almost everything explained in good English captions. It’s in an old villa or castle looking place and is beautiful!!! There was a little terrace outside of our room that over looked the water. It’s so close to the beach and right in the center of town. It was the best decision we could have made. If we ever come back we will stay here again! The host/owner of this hotel was so responsive and able to help with any question we had at any time. He truly made this experience so magical. He took care of us like we were family. Thank you thank you thank you for a wonderful experience!

Excellent location and friendly staff. The hotel is across one street from the archaeological museum and the stunning Riace bronzes, and across another street from the beautiful lungomare. The center of town, which is lively and fun, is a short five-minute or so walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful, providing us with useful information about reaching Sicily (the ferry is only a ten minute walk away). The facilities and rooms are very clean and comfortable.

The apartment was completely new after reconstruction, in hotel-like cleanliness and equipment quality. We had own room with own bathroom, kitchen was common, where nice breakfast was served. The owners, 2 brothers, were extremely caring and helpful, he would go with me to the airport to bring back our rental car and drove me back on his motorcycle! This was way over usual hospitality and we really appreciated.

The keepers of the room were EXTREMELY kind and helpful, the most friendly we've encountered in all of Italy. They were obviously excited to have us staying there. :) They let us put our bikes in the stairway early, hours before check in, which helped us out immensely. They also let us hang out in the common area even after checkout because it was a rainy day. They were super communicative over Wattsapp too!

I liked the location within minutes walking of the train station and the main pedestrian street. The hotel is sleek and modern with keyless entry using your phone. The room was large and well appointed. Great shower and amenities. Breakfast was excellent with generous sweet and salty choices. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful and kind.

The staff was very helpful and flexible when we got there an hour before we said we would, they were able to get us checked into our rooms within ten minutes. The pizza place up the street they suggested was also delicious.
