The final destination of the Medieval pilgrimage route (El Camino de Santiago), this city is the best place to enjoy fresh fish and traditional Galician bread. The Christian pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James passes by Santiago de Compostela Airport, which is 16 km away from Galicia’s capital.
I absolutely loved this area. Santiago de Compostela has everything you could ask for-culture, great food and friendly people. It was picturesque and clean. In addition it was a great base from which to easily visit other areas. It is a city I could return to again and again. We were here during off season so not sure if high season would be as pleasant.

The room was great, and the bath a very welcome piece of luxury after the Camino. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist.
The main weakness was the breakfast, which I would call “ just ok”, and I had expected more.
The hotel was a little further than i thought from the cathedral and the main restaurant strip, but still an easy walk.

Lovely city.
Lovely city. Impressive main square and very impressive cathedral; fairly compact. Old town great: loads of eateries - specially down Franco St but many elsewhere. Finding tourist information office needs a little determination but very helpful when you succeed. Many good tours reasonably priced -especially Ria Basis and also Finisterre tour. You can easily get to La Coruña by train on your own but turn up a bit early because there may be a few security checks. Not an expensive place for a major tourist destination.

The bedding was fabulous from the firm mattress, beautiful expensive sheets and comforters, towels they went to all expenses to make sure that we were comfortable after walking 200 miles on the Camino. The bathroom was pure Vida. 💕😍🫶🏼

Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more crowded than I anticipated. Suggest pre booking tickets to things you want to see. The cathedral and museum was wonderful. Also, suggest reviewing restaurant options and make reservations early for popular places. And pre-arrange a taxi two days prior to airport departure. If arriving by bus also pre-arrange a taxi.

We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year. I think that 2-3 days is enough to see the sights.

The hotel was a little removed from the old town but could be walked in 20 minutes through green surroundings. Breakfast is available at the premises or can be obtained at several other places within 5 to 10 minutes walk. But the best thing about the Casa Diocesana is the reception staff and the sisters who clean the rooms. All are friendly and helpful especially Maria in reception who is a shining diamond 💎
Very nice private, four room small hotel. Nice, very clean room with private bath, shared kitchenette and lounge area. Maria personally received me and managed the daily cleaning etc. I found the facilities very nice, excellent value and Marie and Jose charming and helpful hosts. I was there four nights and the location was excellent for all old town Santiago attractions.
This is a very clean, modern facility still in the old part of Santiago, just across from one of my favorite little squares: Plaza San Roque. The airport bus has a stop only a minute walk from the hotel, and many good restaurants, bars and bakeries that are frequented by locals are a hop, skip and a jump away. The room was very clean and nicely layed-out.
the Parador de Reyes Catolicos is more of a museum than a hotel per se. Being Santiago de Compostela a historical site, the Parador is the best pic, for it’s prt of the city’s history. It’s location is amazing for its proximity to the cathedral, the museum, the medieval city centre, the old municipal market (a must visit!).
This is a really nice hotel off the beaten path in Santiago de Compostela. The staff went out of they way to be helpful and really made us feel as if they appreciated our visit.
Our room was very well appointed and quiet. Also, there was a little patio off the room which was a very nice touch for our stay.
Warm and welcoming hostal. The best place I stayed in Spain! The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, and were able to give me a list of clinics & info to get a COVID test required for getting back to the States. Location is great. A wonderful place to stay!
You cannot get any closer to the Cathedral than this Hotel. The hotel is very clean and modern and I found their staff to be absolutely top notch. Their housekeeping staff deserves high praise too. And what I liked most is that you got so much for your money. This is a great bargain in Santiago.
Lovely sweet receptionists.
Location between the train station and old town and very near to airport bus stop.
Quiet clean comfortable room. We stayed in two other different hotels in Santiago de Compostela, this is our best experience .
Can leave luggage after check out.
Perfect location to finish Camino - near cathedral and bus station. There is air conditioning in the room 👍 A man from hotel stuff was really kind and helpful and despite we came earlier he let us in ❤ He speaks English which is not common in Spain.
After a stay in the old town of Santiago we chose to stay in this hotel to do some shopping, Corte Ingles a 5 min walk and a bus ride to the shopping centre.
Wonderful staff and a very clean hotel with in site parking, just perfect for our stay.
This is a perfect hotel direclty in the City Center of Santiago. We had a really nice view from the window. All Pubs, Bars and Shops are at one's fingertips. The Cathedral ist also 2 Minutes away. Perfect stay for a rest after long Camino :)
Nothing can describe staying in one of the oldest hotels in the world. The location, the rooms, and the experience are excellent. Staying at the Parador was one of the highlights in finishing our Camino de Santiago!
The hotel is close to Santiago Campostello, which makes it very convenient at the end of the Camino. Staff is very helpful and the room was very clean. Also, breakfast at the hotel is very good.
Our second stay at Pazo de Altamira, on this occasion concluding the Camino del Norte from Bilbao. Excellent last few nights in Santiago, it’s a lovely hotel and the restaurant was excellent too.
Enjoyed the ensuite bathroom and shower,as well as room on first floor. The cafe next door was excellent! Their cafe con leche was the best I’ve had in all of Spain!
