The rooms in the main building are modern and luxurious, but this can be experienced in other hotels. The rooms in the Palace (this hotel) are very special because of its history.
To be honest, I'd rather keep this place a secret.
Surrounded by a large park, Hotel Schloss Ragaz is located on the outskirts of Bad Ragaz, next to the golf courses and the thermal spa bath.

The location in a valley at 500m, surrounded by peaks...
The location in a valley at 500m, surrounded by peaks reaching 2,500m, was great. Unfortunately the Tamina hot springs up the gorge, and the gorge itself, were closed, but I did manage to catch the last day of the season at Heidiland, a charming place. The mineral springs spa is fabulous, where you can enjoy every type of pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and water massages, and, of course, it is immaculately clean and well organised. The tourist tax in Bad Ragaz is a hefty 4.60CHF per night. I found the locals rather cold and snobby. It's a nice place to go to if you like the spa. I did not eat out so cannot recommend restaurants. Sorry. The public transport, like everywhere in Switzerland, is excellent but buses only run once per hour.

Small town with all facilities.
Small town with all facilities. Easy access from the A13 motorway or by rail from Zurich. Access on foot to the Tamina gorge and Alt Bad Pfeffers (1h) definitely worth a visit. The nearby Giessen Park alongside the Rhine is great for exercise. Thermal baths at The Grand Hotel open to visitors (£££). Many bars and restaurants boutique shops and small supermarkets. Within walking distance of the Buendner Herrschaft wine growing villages (Heidiland)

Bad Ragaz is a lovely little town with an excellent spa.
Bad Ragaz is a lovely little town with an excellent spa. Everything very close, spas and hotels and services. Station not far from the city center with excellent and frequent public connections. This allows you to reach bad ragaz without a car and to move by public transport or on foot in the city center.
I dined at the restaurant verve by Sven at the grand hotel in Bad Ragaz. Excellent restaurant with impeccable service. Had a pleasant and relaxing weekend. Definitely to be repeated.

Bad Ragaz is a small and boring Swiss village.
Bad Ragaz is a small and boring Swiss village. There's nothing to do there but it could be a base for mountain trekking and visit to Heidiland. There is a big good club for those who like it, and a thermal center, nice but not worthy a trip in itself.
Eating around is usually expensive and not interesting, at least for an Italian. Furthermore all places close at 22:00, which make it difficult to have dinner for those who come from southern Europe. There only one pub open til 23:00, the Thömsn's National Pub, which has some nice beers and some snacks.
We had dinner at Gladys in the golf club, strangely with prices below the average but kind waitresses and genuine food.

Since I often play golf at the beautiful Bad Ragaz golf course I know the little town reasonably well. Needless to say that the beautiful hotel Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is worth to visit if nothing more a cup of coffee or tea in one of the beautiful lounges would do it.
A very nice cozy hotel. Breakfast is simple, but you have food of all kinds - eggs, sausages, vegetables and fruits, bread, etc. We didn't have any allergy restrictions, so no comment about it. Restaurants close by for dinner.
Spacious, clean and quite equipped room. Kids were impressed that they had a TV in their chamber too! :-)
Parking is just a few meters away from the hotel.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Should we ever come back to Bad Ragaz, we will stay in this hotel for sure!
Very friendly and welcoming reception staff. They upgraded us as it was my birthday! Our room was modern, very comfortable and reasonably sized. The castle part of the hotel is very traditional and beautiful. Set in picturesque gardens, a short walk away from the golf course and thermal baths. Attentive staff in the restaurant. Good selection of fresh food (lots of different bread choices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, eggs etc.) for breakfast.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. We had to leave at 6:30am and they kindly prepared breakfast early so that we could enjoy their amazing buffet. The room was spacious, clean, with a mini fridge and water kettle and the front desk was super kind as was the morning chef. there was also a fantastic Italian restaurant right down the street. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Excellent location from the train station and easy walking distance to the center of town. Very private, beautiful grounds and friendly and helpful owner! Beds are comfortable, super clean overall, access to laundry, and well appointed kitchenette. Bad Ragaz is a hidden gem and wished we had more time to enjoy this paradise.
Location was in the middle of Bad Ragaz close to all the restaurants, spa, and supermarkets. Perfect for a short stay in this cute little spa town. When we asked for a fan for in the room, within 10 minutes we got it to our room. Super attentive and just a great stay.

Great idea, makes it terrific to arrive and leave at practically anytime with self check in/out. Was clean and comfortable, one of the best showers I have seen in a motel/hotel. Will definitely book again when in the area.
It so happened that we travelled from Austria to Switzerland and made a stop at Bad Ragaz. I told my family not to have any expectation at all. No parking onsite but there is a public parking near the hotel (No discount).
The room inside the castle was very nice, big and clean with a wonderful view. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of cupboard space. The breakfast was good. The gardens and trees very relaxing.
phantastic massage, excellent breakfast with a wide range of food, very well designed SPA with many thermal baths of different temperature and saunas. spacy and comfortable room with nice view
Everything was outstanding. Check in, valet, spa, restaurant, breakfast, room , and staff were all impeccable. This a beautiful property with a fantastic staff. A truly wonderful experience.
The hotel was located close to the spa center, but also just a few minutes away from the main station to the Pizol cable that was the purpose of our visit. Breakfast is good.
