A lesser visited town, which makes it even more appealing.
A lesser visited town, which makes it even more appealing. It is perfectly located to the amalfi coast but there are so many things to do in this bigger town such as restaurants, sightseeing and more accommodations. Getting around is easy and you can take the ferry or hydrofoil to get the amalfi coats locations.

Salerno is also great to visit, great, shops, food people and is a fantastic and reasonable ferry prices at Amal’s and Positano within 25 mins. A beautiful, peaceful city, with a very long center, various restaurants and shops, the sea is nearby, the promenade is very beautiful. There is a train station, it is close to Amalfi and Positano. Several times we did try to use buses - they are not reliable. Many stores do not have prices on the goods and each time the price is different. Locals treat you like a tourist.A. - 8.0Scored 8.0

Salerno is a nice city, it is a very good location to stay if you are planning to visit the Amalfi Coast by boat or bus, or to visit Pompei by train. Lots of bar, pasticcerie, ristoranti and shops. Unfortunately the beaches in town are very dirty, lots of rubbish, pity:(Anna - 8.0Scored 8.0

We used Salerno as our base for day trips to Amalfi towns and Capri. It was an easy train ride down from Rome and we avoided the hassles of transferring off train to bus or ferry with luggage. We did not get a chance to see Salerno sites. We left each day by ferry to other towns. The ferry rides were a great way to see the beautiful amalfi coastal towns. Salerno offered plenty of dinner choices. Some parts of town are bright and busy. Some a little gritty and too much graffiti. The vibe here is true to the buildings' history; quiet,relaxing old world Italian villa.Just what we wanted while visiting Italy for the first time. Also, it was easy to find from the train station and just steps away from shopping and restraunts.

The location is very good close to the ferries and train station, restaurants etc. Salerno is a nice city with little tourists. Travelling to Amalfi by boat is great and taking the train to Pompeii, Rome, Naples or other big cities it easy, cheap and efficient. I highly recommend Salerno and this B&B which is more like a small hotel. We stayed as a couple with our 6 year boy.

From here you can walk to the historical centre within fifteen minutes. Right next to the hotel is a supermarket you just have to cross the road.
